Job Opening: Junior Purchasing Agent
Description
We have a direct hire opening for a Junior Purchasing Agent in Sparks at a product recycling company. This is a 1st shift opening.
In this role, you will manage the entire purchasing process, prepare documents related to purchasing, maintain positive vendor/supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.

Pay and Schedule Information:
- Pay: $26-$27/hour
- Schedule: 8 am-5 pm; Monday-Friday
Job Duties of the Junior Purchasing Agent:
- Oversee the purchasing process for the Company: NDA verification, quote, price negotiation, purchase requisition, purchase order placement, delivery tracking, expediting, shipment coordination, and material discrepancy reporting
- Source vendors for department requests as needed
- Maintain and update vendor information as necessary
- Submit approved purchase orders via the Global Shop Solutions system with required documentation including quotes and purchaser requisitions
- Help prepare documents related to the purchase process, including Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and requests for contracts
- Review all purchase orders for accuracy and compliance according to procurement policies and procedures before sending for approval
- Track and document when orders/materials are received in Global Shop Solutions system
- Follow up with appropriate people and departments as needed to ensure follow through of each order
- Expedite contracts and back ordered items and communicate status to key stakeholders
- Act as the company’s subject matter expert on purchasing, stay updated on policy changes, and ensure all purchasing activities are in compliance with procurement policies
- Support managers to implement a new ERP system and business strategy as requested
Job Requirements of the Junior Purchasing Agent:
- Have 1-3 years of purchasing experience
- Have an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Global Shop Solutions, Microsoft Office Suite, internet browsing tools, Adobe Suite, Oracle NetSuite, and familiar with specific company software platforms
- Strong negotiation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in budget management
- Able to quickly calculate the cost of goods and services
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
