Job Opening: Mechanical Engineer
Description
We have a direct hire opening for a Mechanical Engineer in Sparks at a product recycling company. This is a 1st shift opening.
In this role, you will focus on planning and designing projects using AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS, managing equipment installations, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and collaborating with engineers to develop/implement operating procedures.

Pay and Schedule Information:
- Pay: $98k/annually
- Schedule: This is a 1st shift opening
Job Duties of the Mechanical Engineer:
- Plan and design pilot projects, tools, and commercial scale customer production equipment
- Design mechanical systems and 3D parts in AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS
- Problem solve mechanical failures, analyze processes, and implement improvements
- Research, design, evaluate, and observe the operation of mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to ensure it is functioning according to specifications
- Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment as pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, and electric systems
- Read and make corrections to piping and instrumentation diagrams, general arrangement drawings, electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and detailed structural and tank drawings
- Collaborate with engineers and other colleagues to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical info
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design, use drafting tools or computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software
Job Requirements of the Mechanical Engineer:
- Have 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of three-dimensional imaging programs such as AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as ASME, NFPA 70E, OSHA, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally; Must have a valid passport
