Job Opening: Maintenance Technician
Description
We have direct hire openings for Maintenance Technicians in Kent at a food company that makes deli products, such as pinwheel wraps, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, snack boxes, prepared salads, and more. 1st and 2nd shift openings are available!
In this role, maintain and repair production line equipment, troubleshoot low and high voltage electrical systems and control circuitry, and help with some facility maintenance as needed.

Pay and Shift Information:
- Pay: $30/hour–$40/hour
- 1st Shift: 4 AM – 2:30 PM; These 10 hour shifts can be scheduled Mon-Sun and you’ll always have 2-3 days off each week
- 2nd Shift: 2 pm-12:30 am or 4 pm-2:30 am; These 10 hour shifts can be scheduled Mon-Sun and you’ll always have 2-3 days off each week
Job Duties of the Maintenance Technician:
- Maintain and repair production line equipment like conveyors, slicers, dicers, ceiling machines, refrigeration equipment, industrial peelers, wash tanks, dishwashers, and ovens
- The maintenance includes working with mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, up to 480 volt AC 3 phase motors
- Electrical tasks include replacing components like circuit breakers, control panels, fuses, relays, switches, photo eyes, and wiring
- Enter work orders in the maintenance management system, write work orders, look up parts, investigate, and follow up with work orders
- Light industrial plumbing, working with water mains, crimping of pipe for copper and cast iron, and light carpentry tasks
- Set up and install office cubicles, furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.
- Help with building maintenance and upkeep involving preparing surfaces and paint for various structures and equipment

Job Requirements of the Maintenance Technician
- Have 2 years of proven industrial maintenance experience; preferably in the food manufacturing industry
- Experience in troubleshooting low and high voltage systems, including control circuitry
- Be comfortable with basic computer usage and data entry
- Be able to read blueprints and schematics
- Knowledge of TIG welding, mild steel stick/MIG welding, and plasma cutting is preferred
- Be familiar with tools associated with the maintenance trade
- Familiarity with VFDs, control circuits, and start-stop functions for conveyors, motors, and pumps is preferred
