Schedule is Sunday’s from 4pm to Midnight. You are able to pick up extra shifts when people use PTO. Pay is $21.00 an hour
The duties and responsibilities of a Package sorter may include the following:
- Sorting and scanning packages according to specific instructions and routing them to their designated locations.
- Loading and unloading packages onto conveyor belts or other sorting equipment.
- Operating and maintaining sorting equipment and reporting any malfunctions to management.
- Meeting daily productivity and accuracy targets.
- Following all safety procedures and regulations.
- Keeping track of packages and updating package tracking information as needed.
- Communicating with supervisors and other team members to ensure efficient sorting and delivery of packages.
A package sorter should possess the following skills:
- Physical stamina and strength: The ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 30 pounds, bend, and twist, stand for long periods of time, and perform repetitive motions is a must.
- Attention to detail: As a sorter must be able to accurately sort and scan packages and ensure that they are properly labeled and packaged to avoid damage during transit.
- Time management and organizational skills: As a sorter must work efficiently and meet daily productivity and accuracy targets.
- Good hand-eye coordination: As a sorter must be able to sort and scan packages and operate sorting equipment accurately.
- Communication skills: A sorter must communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure efficient sorting and delivery of packages.
- Basic computer skills: A sorter must be able to use warehouse management systems and barcode scanners.
- Flexibility: A sorter must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as the job demands it.
- Safety awareness: A sorter must know and follow all safety procedures and regulations.
- Teamwork: A sorter should have a team-work attitude, able to work with other team members effectively.
- Adaptability: A sorter should be able to adapt to changing situations and learn new processes quickly.
