Safety Utility Associate!
Morning Shift Available! Mon-Fri 08:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay rate between $18.50 – $19.00
We are looking for a motivated, self starter, team player!
A Safety utility associate maintains safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. Supports the warehouse with hands on utility job tasks inside and outside the building including, but not limited to painting safety guides, hanging safety signs, using hand tools to assemble or disassemble premises needs, maintenance of equipment and relatable tasks.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Secures all Distribution Center premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment and access points. Support with building, and premises walk-throughs
- Supports the warehouse with hands on utility job tasks inside and outside the building; including, but not limited to painting safety guides, hanging safety signs, using hand tools to assemble or disassemble premises equipment, plaques, and relatable distribution center needs
- Supports the Safety Department with New Hire Orientation and Building Tours as needed
- Engages with all loss prevention team members, security personnel, operations leadership team and demonstrates a positive experience towards all personnel.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Ablet to properly and safety utilize hand tools and or hand power tools
- Knowledge of security procedures for a distribution center environment or equivalent
- Able to work in a warehouse environment, able to work in different weather elements
- Able to sit/lift/bend/walk repeatedly
- Ability to work effectively under a fast pace conditions
- Exercise diplomacy when dealing with people in sensitive situations
- Apply active listening techniques in order to obtain complete and accurate information
- Able to rapidly prioritize a variety of tasks and take appropriate action
- Ability to apply first responder techniques in performing emergency first aid and CPR
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Proficient understanding of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must be able to Read, Write, and Speak the English Language
- Must have patience and the capability to train/teach associates.
- Ability to learn to operate necessary job tools.
- Ability to operate equipment & lift to 50 lbs.
- Ability to follow safety procedures
- Highly motivated, a team-player, and self-starter
- Demonstrate high levels of dependability.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, but not required
