Description
A full-service global transportation and logistics company is seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to join their dynamic team and help them ensure their deliveries run smoothly and on schedule. As a Dispatcher, you will be the critical link between our delivery drivers, customers, and operations. Your role will involve scheduling and coordinating deliveries, managing driver routes, ensuring on-time deliveries, and providing excellent customer service.
Pay $20-$22 per hour, based on experience
Shift 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday plus Overtime when required
Key Responsibilities
- Route Planning & Coordination Assign and schedule delivery routes for drivers based on priority, location, and time constraints. Optimize routes to improve efficiency and reduce delivery time.
- Communication Serve as the point of contact for drivers, addressing any concerns, delays, or issues that arise during deliveries.
- Tracking & Monitoring Use GPS and other tracking tools to monitor deliveries in real-time and adjust schedules as needed to ensure timely arrivals.
- Customer Service Respond to customer inquiries, provide updates on delivery status, and resolve issues related to deliveries.
- Problem-Solving Handle unexpected challenges such as traffic delays, weather disruptions, or vehicle breakdowns. Collaborate with drivers and other teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of delivery logs, driver performance, and customer feedback.
- Experience Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation is preferred
- Communication Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills. You must be comfortable speaking with drivers, customers, and colleagues.
- Organization Ability to multitask and manage a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail is essential.
- Problem-Solving Quick-thinking and solution-oriented with the ability to handle unexpected situations effectively.
- Technology Savvy Proficiency in using dispatch software, GPS systems, and other logistical tools. Basic computer skills (MS Office, email, etc.) are required.
- Customer Service A customer-focused attitude with the ability to handle pressure while maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Shift Flexibility Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
