Job Title: Material Handler – Inbound
Location: Fremont, CA
Reports To: Inbound Supervisor / Warehouse Manager
Job Summary:
As a Material Handler – Inbound, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient unloading, sorting, scanning, and staging of incoming furniture and home goods. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate inventory management and the timely flow of product through the warehouse to support retail store and online operations.
Key Responsibilities:
-Unload inbound shipments from trailers using pallet jacks or forklifts.
-Verify product counts and inspect for damages against bills of lading and purchase orders.
-Accurately scan and label items using RF scanners.
-Sort and stage materials by department, location, or delivery route.
-Assist in put-away processes, ensuring items are stored in designated warehouse locations.
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
-Collaborate with inventory and receiving teams to resolve discrepancies or damaged goods.
-Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, quality, and productivity.
-Support cycle counts and other inventory audits as needed.
Work Environment:
-Fast-paced warehouse environment with variable temperatures.
-Standing, bending, walking, and lifting throughout the shift.
-May require weekend, holiday, or evening shifts depending on business needs.
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
-1+ year of experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred.
-Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
-Forklift certification or willingness to be trained and certified (if applicable).
-Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
-Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.
