Description
SUMMARY Warehouse custodians ensure cleanliness in the facility. They maintain sanitation in the warehouse and office areas, work in accordance with all safety regulations, and coordinate work with other team members. RESPONSIBILITIES • Clean and maintain work area. • Operate within sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs). • Warehouse Area: sweep floors, clean walls and other surfaces, empty trash and recycle bins. • Office Area: Mop floors, clean rugs, and empty trash and recycle receptacles, clean bathrooms, windows, and lunchroom. • Follow standard procedures when mixing and using cleaning chemicals. • Perform outdoor tasks such as cleaning up debris, shoveling snow from parking lots, driveways and stairway. • Assist with setting up chairs, arranging tables and removing for meetings, and parties. • In addition to their job duties, janitors perform minor repairs on building equipment, fixtures and furniture. For example, janitors may unclog sink drains, fix leaky faucets and unclog toilets • Custodians work extensively with equipment such as vacuums, power tools and other cleaning equipment, it is their responsibility to identify and communicate needed repairs and replacements to building supervisors. Supervisory responsibilities • None Qualifications • Be physically fit and able to lift up to 50lbs • Be organized and punctual. • Have basic knowledge of using and operating warehouse machinery and cleaning equipment. • Have the ability to efficiently coordinate workings with internal and external workers of the company. • Have the ability to work in a team. • Must be able to complete all assigned work efficiently. Education and experience requirement Minimum: • High School degree or equivalent • At least 1 year of recent warehouse cleaning experience.
