General Summary The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining machinery to ensure safety as well as productivity. This position is responsible for product safety, quality and legality. Primary Responsibilities 1. Set up and maintain machinery in co pack area. 2. Maintain machinery in accordance with the Preventative Maintenance Program. 3. Maintain area to comply with current safety standards. 4. Understand and assist in the Equipment Validation Process. 5. Capable of using eMaint for troubleshooting as well as capturing repairs and maintenance tasks. 6. Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager and Co Pack Supervisors.
Education/Experience 1. High School diploma or equivalent required and 0-2 years of experience performing mechanical maintenance duties in a manufacturing/packaging environment, or equivalent combination of vocational education and experience. 2. Must have exceptional problem solving and maintenance skills. 3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 4. Customer service driven. 5. Strong team player.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements With or without accommodation: 1. Ability to follow policies and procedures. 2. Ability to read, write and interpret information. 3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. 4. Ability to use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel. 5. Ability to sit/walk/stand for up to 10 hours per day. 6. Ability to intermittently crawl, squat, climb, twist, bend, stoop, push or pull. 7. Must possess visual acuity, i.e., close, distance, and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 8. Ability to lift/carry items less than 25 pounds. Working Conditions Work is performed in a general warehouse environment on a concrete surface with adequate lighting. Temperatures can be very hot during the summer months and very cold during the winter months. Workspace can be very dusty and occasionally noisy due to traffic of motorized vehicles operating.
Ability to work rotating 12 hours shift 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am.
