Shipping and Receiving Clerk – 2nd Shift
Location: Chicago, IL
Shift: 2nd Shift – Tuesday–Saturday, 3:30 PM to 12 AM
Pay: $21.95

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our 2nd shift team. This position plays a key role in warehouse operations by ensuring accurate, timely, and safe handling of incoming and outgoing shipments.

Key Responsibilities

Consolidating, recording data, and maintaining accurate documentation for truck loads.
Verifying and inspecting incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or other records.
Preparing shipping documents, labels, and staging orders for pickup/delivery.
Using RF scanners and/or WMS (Warehouse Management System) to track inventory and shipments.
Organizing and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.
Following Ryder’s training processes and adhering to company safety standards.
Communicating with drivers, carriers, and internal departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Assisting with cycle counts, inventory checks, and reconciliation as needed.
Lifting 35–50 lbs as required.
Maintaining flexibility to support operational needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
1+ year of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or related experience preferred.
Strong attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, WMS systems a plus).
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to follow instructions and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
