Job Summary:
The Scheduling Clerk coordinates inbound and outbound transportation scheduling, including carrier and equipment requirements. This position serves as the primary backup for the Shipping Clerk and provides assistance with internal customer service-related tasks.
Shift:
[Shift days and hours need verified and updated — e.g., Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with occasional overtime as needed]
Major Responsibilities / Activities:

Coordinate with Transportation Management, Outbound Leadership, and carriers to arrange timely order and direct delivery pick-ups

Coordinate with Transportation Management, Inbound Leadership, and carriers to schedule inbound freight appointments

Perform systematic trailer arrival and departure tasks

Prepare necessary documentation and contact carriers for pick-up

Monitor, update, and take action on in-transit reports and error logs

Assist customer service representatives with order status and special customer needs

Maintain document control for Purchase Orders and Bills of Lading

Serve as the primary backup to the Senior Clerk (Shipping)

Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs frequently

Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively

Flexible and adaptable to changing situations

Excellent interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented and team-focused

Availability to work different shifts and overtime with little or no notice
Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Blue Yonder, TOPS, and MARC WMS systems
