Pay: $21–$25 per hour | Full-Time | Immediate Opening
We are seeking a skilled Centrifuge Operator to join a production team in San Diego, CA. This role is responsible for operating high-speed centrifugal machines used to separate sugar crystals from molasses or mother liquor. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, adherence to strict safety and sanitation standards (GMP), and the ability to troubleshoot equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Start, stop, and operate batch or continuous centrifugal equipment
- Control valves, timers, spinning cycles, washing cycles, and discharge cycles
- Monitor machine operations and adjust settings on a touch-screen control system
- Ensure proper separation of syrup and molasses sugar crystals
- Monitor sugar quality, including moisture content and color, and adjust processes to meet specifications
- Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and wash-downs to prevent sugar buildup
- Prepare bicarbonate in designated areas
- Transfer bicarbonate to the liquid plant using a forklift
- Clear pipes clogged by sugar accumulation during emergency situations
- Clean department and plant areas, including sweeping, mopping, and wipe-downs across all floor levels
- Clean magnets on the second and fourth floors

Qualifications
- Engineering degree in one of the following fields:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electromechanical Engineering
- Mechatronic Engineering
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Understanding of GMP safety and sanitation standards
- Forklift operation experience preferred
- Ability to lift, bend, and work in an industrial environment
