General Machinist
The General Machinist II plans and executes projects using machine tools including boring tools, calipers, drilling machines, grinding machines, lathes, milling cutters, and workshop presses.
Must be able to read blueprints, drawings, charts & tables. Needs to be able to edit programs and write simple programs. Needs to work to dimensions and tolerances provided by blueprints. Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools. Monitor speed and feed of machines during the machining process. Prefer to have both FANUC and HAAS controls for Lathes. Needs to be able to work on Lathes machinery. Mills experience is a plus.
Schedule: 6am-2:30pm, Mon-Fri
Pay: $22-$28/hr depending on Experience
Job functions:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts
- Work to dimensions and tolerances provided by blueprints
- Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision
- Fit and assemble machined metal parts and sub assemblies using hand and power tools
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of machine shop experience required
- Completion of a technical trade school, or the equivalent of education and experience
