Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining inventory records, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
- Accurately prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and documentation
- Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems
- Record and report damaged, missing, or incorrect items
- Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure timely deliveries
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment (if certified)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area
- Comply with company policies and safety regulations at all times
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories as needed
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous shipping and receiving or warehouse experience preferred
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, inventory systems)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
