Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare shipments by ensuring completion and accuracy of all orders
- Consolidate orders from the storage and retrieval area
- Use SAP Telnet system to confirm and pack orders
- Verify accuracy by comparing packing lists with product labels
- Count items to ensure the correct quantities are shipped
- Pack boxes properly to prevent damage during transit
- Assist with loading trucks or trailers using a forklift or pallet jack
- Perform visual inspections to ensure products are free of defects
- Notify manager or lead of any discrepancies or issues
- Review packing lists for special customer requirements (e.g., labeling, packaging instructions)
- Operate a forklift to move merchandise for shipment
- Weigh merchandise and complete shipping documentation, including bills of lading and packing lists
- Maintain workstation inventory, ensuring proper boxes and packing materials are available
- Support the Shipping Manager and Lead in meeting deadlines for order processing
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Job Requirements:
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer skills, including experience with warehouse systems (SAP experience preferred)
- Ability to operate forklifts and warehouse equipment (certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as packing lists and shipping instructions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs]
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
