Position Summary:

The Welder/Fabricator Level One is a key member of the manufacturing team in a high mix, lower volume environment, reporting to the Shop Floor Supervisor. FAA Repair Station. This position performs all required welding and fabricating operations of all aircraft engine components as defined in the engineering process routing. Read and understand routing instructions are critical to ensure product safety. This position is entry level in the production process.

The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving, working in a fast-paced environment and self-directed.

  • Key Position Responsibilities:

  • • Acts proactively supporting safety at all times. Safety is ALWAYS first
  • • Position is up tempo and very detail oriented
  • • TIG weld or torch braze thin wall tubes, or tubular products, ducts and manifolds to aerospace quality standards
  • • Experience in TIG welding titanium, stainless steel, and nickel alloys.
  • • Fabrication and blueprint reading experience.
  • • Experience with tight tolerance components.
  • • Must have the ability to work with precision hand measuring equipment.
  • • Experience in setting up work in jigs and fixtures.
  • • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, testing and assembly procedures.
  • • Willing and able to work overtime
  • • Cold work tubes, ducts & manifolds to conform to check fixtures
  • • Interpret routings, op sheets and draw on personal knowledge to determine most efficient approach to repair a given part
  • • Operate an Orbital Weld machine
  • • Identify potential process improvements
  • • Position is up tempo and detail oriented
  • • Clean and pressure test product as assigned
  • • Bead blast product as needed
  • • Ensures products adhere to quality standards
  • • Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
  • • Ability to adapt, communicate, be decisive, be dependable, and take initiative.
  • • Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers
  • • Ensure hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored, and handled for proper disposal.

HIRING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

LOCATION: Franklin, IN

SHIFT: Rotating Days 2-2-3-3 630p-630a, $34/hr 


Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician (MT1) is an entry-level maintenance technician position acts as a support to the MT2’s, MT3’s and leads. The MT1 is responsible for supporting the maintenance of equipment for the purpose of keeping it in production-ready and safe condition by helping to administer the preventative maintenance program, assisting with troubleshooting equipment issues as well and making repairs as needed. The MT1 reports to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Technician supports the maintenance team in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • • Assist with preventative maintenance tasks to support equipment longevity and minimize downtime. • Respond to service calls and requests from manufacturing and other departments in a timely and professional manner.
  • • Support the operation of maintenance room equipment in accordance with established procedures. • Help maintain equipment in production-ready and safe condition through routine inspections and servicing.
  • • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing equipment under the guidance of senior technicians. • Actively participate in daily team production meetings, contributing to discussions on safety, quality, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
  • • Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures accurately.
  • • Support root cause analysis efforts to identify and resolve equipment issues or escalate to appropriate personnel.
  • • Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe and efficient environment.
  • • Assist in administering the preventative maintenance program, including documentation and scheduling.
  • • Ensure all auxiliary equipment is properly installed and functioning.
  • • Perform physical tasks, including the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

Competencies & Minimum Requirements

  • • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. 
  • • Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. • Training: • Completion of core Maintenance Trainee program courses required. • Additional Ivy Tech coursework may be required based on experience and maintenance assessment results. • Technical Skills: • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and exposure to electromechanical techniques, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, or robotics preferred. • Proficient in the use of basic and advanced hand tools. • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints and schematics preferred. • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to follow both written and verbal instructions. • Work Ethic: Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work effectively in a team environment. • Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency preferred.
