Blender / Pasteurizer Operator

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Blender / Machine Operator to join our production team. This role is responsible for operating automated blending and pasteurization systems, maintaining product quality, ensuring food safety compliance, and supporting daily production operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate computer-based automated blending, pasteurizing, finished product, and CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems.
  • Maintain sterility and proper operation of pasteurizers throughout production.
  • Complete accurate and legible logs of daily activities, inventory records, and shift reports.
  • Troubleshoot RTS blending equipment and associated production lines.
  • Perform administrative duties and production documentation as assigned.
  • Conduct periodic tear-downs and inspections of pasteurizers, valves, pipelines, and related equipment.
  • Verify the pulling and staging of ingredients for production batches.
  • Work closely with Blenders, System Operators, Supervisors, and other team members to support production goals.
  • Communicate production changes, cleanups, equipment issues, and deviations from schedule in a timely manner.
  • Perform laboratory tests, pre-checks, and quality verification activities to support the blending process.
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation of production and quality activities.
  • Follow all GMP, HACCP, Safety, and SOP requirements.
  • Utilize mechanical troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues involving valves, pumps, meters, solenoids, and valve matrix systems.
  • Assist with outside tanker unloading operations when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in blend rooms, pasteurizer rooms, control rooms, and tank rooms.
  • Assist other departments as needed to support operational objectives.
  • Cross-train in other production roles and support training of new Blender Operators.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience operating blending, pasteurizing, or food and beverage processing equipment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to accurately complete production records and reports.
  • Basic computer skills for system operation and documentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to enter restricted and confined spaces, including blend tanks and other production tanks.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to identify product quality issues through taste, smell, and visual inspection, including recognizing signs of spoilage in juices and beverages.
