This position requires excellent leadership skills along with the ability to monitor workflow in a fast-paced distribution operation, to oversee coaching and leading fellow associates in a productive and professional manner. Will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the DC on second shift. Will need to actively communicate any personnel, productivity, or inventory issues with the DC Manager on a daily basis. Will be required to communicate effectively with all departments as needed. Additionally, must be able to take initiative and be highly reliable. Aspire for continuous improvement by actively contributing to the performance and metrics of the operation.
Shift: 1st shift
Payrate: $25/Hr
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Supervisor in day-to-day activities
- Meeting established procedures and productivity, safety and quality standards
- Distribute workload to the team daily according to schedules
- Develops and maintains effective warehouse storage practices that promote efficient storage, identification and retrieval
- Assist in reconciling inventory
- Communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
- Administers operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
- Analyzes or resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.?
- Does quality checks of all incoming material
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures and shift schedules to meet deadlines.?
- Monitors inbound, outbound and inventory control operation progress and directs activities to complete daily task
- Ensure staff is fully trained on assigned tasks and organize on-going cross training of employees.
- Ensures daily activities and staffing requirements as planned are executed
- Helps insure timely and accurately checking and shipping of all orders
- Follow all safety rules and procedures
- Follow all applicable OSHA regulations
- Proper use of company equipment and safety gear at all times in accordance with established company procedures
- Participate and may lead safety meetings
- Report to work on the required scheduled days/hours and overtime, as required.
- Positive and proactive participation in all physical inventories
- Immediately report any unsafe conditions to an on duty supervisor or DC Manager
- Maintains current fork lift certification
- 2 years minimum experience as a Warehouse Shift Lead or Supervisor
- Attendance at assigned work facility is required
- Experience in a distribution environment experience preferred
- Ability to understand all safety requirements and regulations (OSHA)
- Must be able to read, write and count
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience working with multiple data systems
- Ability to input and receive data
- Ability to handle fluctuating volume of inbound material and/or job tasks
- Requires flexibility and understanding that all staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goal of the warehouse
