Job Opening: Lead Maintenance Mechanic

We have a direct hire opening for a Lead Maintenance Mechanic in Tacoma at an asphalt shingles manufacturer! This is a 1^st shift position!  

In this role, assign maintenance related-tasks to team members based on urgency, troubleshoot and repair a wide range of machinery, and manage preventative maintenance schedules to avoid breakdowns in production.

Direct Hire Opportunity – Be on our client’s payroll from Day 1!

Pay and Shift:

• Pay: $43.03/hour (Double time will be paid for hours worked over 50)
• 1st shift: 6 am-2:30 pm; Saturday-Wednesday with Thursdays and Fridays off

Job Duties of the Lead Maintenance Mechanic:

• Help manage the maintenance team by organizing work schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring effective communication amongst the team
• Evaluate maintenance request to determine priorities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to team members based on skill level
• Promote a culture of safety to ensure all activities are in compliance with safety guidelines
• Act as a primary contact between the maintenance team and production, QA, vendors, and management
• Oversee the preventative maintenance program to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of machinery
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plant processing equipment such as all equipment on the production line, raw material intake systems, conveyors, electric motors, hydraulics and pneumatics, replace bearings, rollers, and more
• Manage inventory and order necessary parts needed for repairs and maintenance tasks
• Determine the training needs of each team member, create training plans to close the knowledge and skills gaps, and help to develop their skills and build confidence

Job Requirements of the Lead Maintenance Mechanic:

• Have 3-4 years of experience in industrial maintenance
• Must have at least 2 years of lead or supervisory experience in a maintenance role
• Welding and fabrication experience is required
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
