Maintenance Refrigeration Technician

Pay rate– $30.00
Shift– Monday-Friday
SUMMARY
The Refrigeration Technician position is responsible for a variety of HVAC/R equipment for our industrial and commercial customers, through daily service maintenance, performing diagnostic reviews and identifying the root cause for any needed repairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job, an individual must be able to perform the following:
- Maintains, repairs, and conducts Preventative Maintenance (PM) on anhydrous ammonia refrigeration equipment in safe and efficient manner
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for PM’s, repairs and return equipment to fully operational status
- Read and understand technical drawings (P&ID’s, blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) to repair/maintain equipment
- Work as a team member with productions, maintenance and other technicians to support the facilities in the repair and maintenance of equipment
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to understand workload and record actions (e.g., workorders, asset/labor history, inventory usage)
- Utilize computerized refrigeration control system to monitor, adjust and optimize system
- Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates)
- Operate powered equipment (e.g., scissor lift, boom lift) during PM’s and repairs
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance on various ammonia refrigeration systems
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of refrigeration equipment
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with refrigeration systems, identifying and resolving problems efficiently
- Perform system checks, including temperature and pressure readings, to ensure proper operation
- Handle emergency service calls for refrigeration system breakdowns and provide timely repairs
- Collaborate with other technicians and team members to complete projects and assignments
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with refrigeration systems
QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to solve practical problems and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have ammonia refrigeration experience; experience with freon recommended
- Ability to work independently; or as part of a team; has good reasoning abilities and demonstrates sound judgment
- Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to adapt, troubleshoot, research solutions and make recommendations to improve work efficiencies
- Must have one or more of the following Operator I, Operator II or RETA certifications: CARO - Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator or CIRO - Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator
