Position Overview
The SMT/PTH Rework Operator II performs rework and modifications on PCBA circuits ranging from simple to highly complex. This role requires strong soldering skills, experience with rework equipment, and the ability to support engineering teams in optimizing rework processes while maintaining exceptional quality.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Pay: $24/hr
Location: Carson City, Nevada
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rework and modifications on PCBA circuits (simple to complex)
- Hand-solder SMT and PTH components with precision
- Remove and reinstall components as required
- Operate rework equipment such as ERSA systems for BGA rework
- Use Mini-Pot equipment for PTH components
- Utilize pre-heaters for units with heavy copper content
- Use heat guns safely while maintaining control to avoid product damage
- Assist in developing rework processes for new components or products
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize rework procedures and maintain quality standards
Requirements
- Experience with SMT/PTH rework and hand soldering
- Ability to operate rework tools and equipment (ERSA, Mini-Pot, heat guns, pre-heaters)
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to follow technical instructions and work with engineering teams
