Customs Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Customs Clerk to support import and export operations by preparing, reviewing, and processing customs documentation. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations while working closely with brokers, carriers, and internal teams to facilitate timely cross-border shipments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process customs documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, etc.)
- Verify shipment details, tariff classifications, country of origin, and valuation
- Ensure compliance with CBP, FDA, USDA, and other applicable regulatory agencies
- Communicate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers to resolve issues
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems for audits and compliance reviews
- Track shipment status and provide updates to internal stakeholders
- Assist with duty payments, corrections, and post-entry documentation as needed
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in customs, logistics, or international trade preferred
- Knowledge of customs regulations, HTS codes, and import/export procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with customs or logistics software is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred due to cross-border operations
