Automotive Mechanic – Performance Shop
A performance-focused automotive shop in Osseo is hiring a Mechanic to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who loves cars—especially Japanese imports—and wants to work on performance builds, tuning projects, and enthusiast-driven upgrades rather than routine repair work. Both experienced mechanics and entry-level candidates coming out of automotive trade school are encouraged to apply. Performance or racing experience is a plus but not required.
Position: Mechanic
- Entry-Level (Trade School): $20–$25/hr
- Experienced / High-Caliber Mechanic: $26–$36/hr
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including performance and race-oriented builds
- Diagnose mechanical and drivability issues using modern diagnostic tools, service information, and schematics
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and accurately identify required repairs or improvements
- Perform work to a high standard with attention to detail and long-term reliability
- Document repairs, parts used, and recommendations clearly and accurately
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle condition, findings, and recommended services
- Use shop tools and specialized equipment safely and properly
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient and professional workflow
- Stay current with evolving automotive technologies, performance parts, and repair techniques
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic in a dealership or independent shop
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of automotive repair processes and vehicle systems
- Experience working on Japanese makes and performance vehicles preferred
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and shop equipment
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to quality workmanship
