Shipping & Receiving Clerk – Customs Imports

Location: East-side Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping & Receiving Clerk with experience in customs imports and cross-border logistics. This position is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, processing import documentation, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with customs brokers, carriers, and warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and process shipping documents, bills of lading, packing lists, and customs documentation.
• Coordinate import shipments with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers.
• Monitor customs clearance activities and resolve shipment discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, import/export regulations, and company procedures.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers.
• Communicate shipment status and issues to customers, vendors, and internal departments.
• Investigate and resolve shipping, receiving, and inventory discrepancies.
• Operate warehouse equipment as required, including forklifts (preferred).
• Support inventory counts and warehouse organization efforts.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of shipping and receiving experience.
• Experience handling customs import documentation and cross-border shipments.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import processes.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred

• Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarding companies.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Experience with ERP, WMS, or transportation management systems.
