Job Title: Sanitation Associate

Job Summary
The Sanitation Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and cleanliness of medical equipment before it returns to healthcare facilities. This position is responsible for deep-cleaning and sanitizing refurbished hospital beds, as well as laundering, folding, and organizing medical linens. A successful candidate maintains high hygiene standards, follows strict infection-control protocols, and works efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Medical Equipment Sanitation
- Clean and disinfect hospital bed frames, motors, rails, and wheels using approved chemical cleaners.
- Remove debris, adhesive residue, and stains from mechanical and structural components.
- Inspect beds post-cleaning to ensure they meet institutional hygiene and quality control standards.
- Follow safety protocols regarding the handling of chemical bio-cleaners and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Linen Management
- Operate commercial laundry equipment to wash and dry hospital bed linens, pillows, and mattress covers.
- Inspect linens for tears, deep stains, or wear, separating compromised items for disposal or repair.
- Fold and bundle clean linens neatly according to company specifications.
- Store and organize inventory in the designated clean linen area to prevent contamination.
- Maintain cleanliness of the sanitation work bay and laundry stations.
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning, laundry services, janitorial work, or a healthcare environment is a plus.
- Ability to spot small defects, stains, or missed areas during the cleaning process.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable operating basic laundry machines and using specialized cleaning chemicals safely.
- Strong punctuality and a commitment to maintaining a safe, sterile work environment.
