Job Title: Reach Truck Operator
Pay: $22/hr plus $3 shift differential
Shifts: All Shifts Available including Weekend & Part Time!!
Location: New Century, KS
Summary:
- Role: Stand-Up Reach Truck Operator (Refrigerated Dairy Warehouse)
- Environment: Cold storage / refrigerated warehouse (typically maintained at 34°F to 44°F)
- Primary Goal: Transport, stack, and retrieve perishable dairy goods efficiently while maintaining strict temperature control and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a stand-up reach truck to lift, move, and stack pallets of milk, cheese, yogurt, and other dairy items in narrow storage aisles.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound refrigerated trucks, staging products accurately in designated cooler rack locations.
- Use RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track lot numbers, expiration dates, and inventory locations.
- Complete pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections on the stand-up reach truck, checking battery levels, brakes, and hydraulics.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation rules crucial for dairy freshness, and keep cooler floors clear of debris, condensation, or broken packaging.
Qualifications and Skills
- 2+ years of recent experience operating a stand-up reach truck.
- Valid powered industrial truck (PIT) operator certification or ability to pass an on-site evaluation.
- Ability to work in a cold/refrigerated environment for entire shifts while wearing appropriate thermal PPE.
- Ability to stand, bend, and climb on and off the lift frequently.
- High accuracy in reading SKU labels and handling fragile dairy packaging without damaging inventory.
