Description:

• Effectively lead workforce in the proper devanning of containers for U.S. Customs Inspection
• Effectively lead workforce in unloading and reloading inbound trucks/containers and sort if needed using forklift and by hand with care to ensure no cargo damage
• Lead workforce in a productive, safe and efficient manner
• Train new employees on the proper devanning, loading, unloading of cargo                                                           
• Check in containers, devan/reload containers per US Customs directions
• Effectively read and evaluate Bills of Lading, Shipping Manifests and Delivery Orders                                       Communicate effectively and interface with the Mercer management team and US Customs Agents Physically demanding; requires critical thinking & problem-solving skills
• Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company
• Identify safety hazards in the workplace
• Maintain cleanliness of warehouse to include picking up garbage, sweeping floors, keeping warehouse aisles clear of debris and maintaining outside grounds
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements: 

• Ability to speak, read, write in English language.
• Self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision.
• 2 years of forklift experience required
• 1 year yard hostling experience required
• Leadership skills including organization, motivation and team building
• Detail-oriented, high accuracy Clean driving record & able to pass background check Leads by example in all things
