JOB TITLE: Order Entry Clerk
COMPENSATION: $25/hr.
ABOUT THE COMPANY:
A well-established transportation and logistics firm based in Oakland is seeking an experienced Order Entry Clerk to support data entry, coordinate pickups and deliveries, collaborate with internal freight service teams, generate reports, and manage ongoing client communication. Candidates with drayage industry experience are strongly preferred.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Client Services Manager, the Order Entry Clerk will work closely with key clients to facilitate the intricate logistics of drayage trucking operations at the Port of Oakland. While transportation experience is required, the position also offers opportunities for continued learning and growth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1–2 years of experience in container drayage, import/export shipments, or transportation/logistics
- Monitor email and the Transportation Management System (Trinium) for incoming Delivery Orders
- Acknowledge orders, enter data in Trinium, track container status and availability, and escalate issues as needed
- Proficiency with at least one TMS (Trinium preferred)
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills to support client and internal team interaction
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
- Self-motivation and initiative to raise issues with management and seek timely solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general software navigation
- Respond to client inquiries and manage service requests
- Prepare daily and weekly client-facing and internal reports
- Understand client contracts and how rates are applied within the TMS, with a commitment to accuracy and escalation of discrepancies
