Location: Wyandotte, MI
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour

Schedule:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday
Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a Dispatch Specialist I to coordinate transportation activities, communicate with drivers and internal teams, monitor shipment status, and help ensure the timely movement of freight. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation activities.
Communicate with drivers, carriers, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding shipment status and schedules.
Schedule and track pickups and deliveries.
Monitor transportation activities and address service issues as they arise.
Enter and maintain accurate information in transportation and dispatch systems.
Respond to emails, phone calls, and customer inquiries in a professional manner.
Ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
Escalate transportation delays or exceptions to management as needed.
Maintain compliance with company safety and operating procedures.

Qualifications

Previous dispatch, transportation, logistics, customer service, or administrative experience preferred.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High school diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
Ability to communicate effectively by phone and email.
May require occasional walking throughout the facility.
