Warehouse Material Handler

Duties / Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including shipping, and receiving, unloading and loading trucks using forklifts and pallet jacks, crating product, fulfilling purchase orders, and keeping warehouse stocked with essential equipment.

Responsibilities:

* Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in
merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and
distributing to sales associates for processing.
* Crate building and Carpentry
* Read shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to
be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
* Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to
shipping or to other designated areas.
* Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in
bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type,
style, color or product code.
* Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and
customer traffic.
* Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on
pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or
shipping department.
* Open bales, crates and other containers.
* Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed
via appropriate computer program.
* Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to
ensure conformance to company standards.
* Always organize warehouse and work area for orderliness.
* Wear the proper safety equipment.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for manual and clerical shipping/receiving duties. Uses computer/MRP to track, log, verify, and report. Follows shipping/receiving practices and procedures, transportation routing, schedules and related requirements. Verifies quantity, weight, and material conformance to stated identifications.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Report to Manager on department performance and make recommendations for improvements.
Receive and verify incoming materials and supplies against Purchase Orders for quantity, complete part numbers, and lot numbers
Identify damaged freight and coordinate handling and/or return with Procurement Manager
Receive and identify returned goods including quantity against RGA, and condition of material; coordinates handling of material with Customer Service
Forward or deliver received materials and supplies to appropriate departments and locations
Coordinate quarantine of received raw materials with QA Incoming Inspection
Assist in shipping department when needed
Coordinate with Manager on Bill of Lading discrepancies.
Perform all duties as required in the Stay Safe Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with Goodwin Company Checks and Balances.
Education

Hands-on or cumulative work experience may substitute for formal training.

Experience

· 3 years’ experience working in manufacturing or warehouse preferred.

· Ability to read and understand receiving and shipping/receiving documents (including detailed label differences).
