About the Role

Select Staffing is hiring an experienced Drayage Dispatcher to manage daily container movements, driver dispatching, port/rail appointments, and real-time communication. This role requires strong decision-making, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced harbor/intermodal environment.

Responsibilities

Dispatch and route drivers for port/rail moves, live loads, drop & pulls, street turns, and empty returns.
Book/manage port and rail appointments; track cutoffs, LFDs, and return deadlines.
Communicate load details through Trinium and SMS; escalate delays, holds, or yard issues.
Monitor Samsara HOS, safety alerts, and compliance (TWIC, hazmat, overweight permits).
Manage chassis usage, equipment needs, and coordinate with maintenance.
Ensure accurate EDI/API updates, PODs, and billing accessorials.
Review per diem/chassis invoices and submit disputes.

Working Conditions

Fast-paced terminal office with occasional yard exposure.
Primarily desk-based; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
Night shift with rotating early/late hours and monthly on-call duty.

Qualifications

2–5 years of drayage or intermodal dispatch experience.
Strong knowledge of Trinium TMS; eModal/PierPass experience preferred.
Understanding of DOT/FMCSA rules, CARB compliance, AB5, and HOS.
Tech-savvy with Samsara devices and basic troubleshooting.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; TWIC or HazMat a plus.
