We are seeking an experienced Transportation Fleet Service Coordinator (Dispatcher) to assist with routing independent owner contractors with pick up and deliveries of container drayage in the Port of Oakland. The ideal candidate will possess strong transportation dispatch experience and strongly prefer a candidate specifically with drayage industry experience.

The Position:
The Fleet Service Coordinator (dispatcher) will report to our Fleet Service Supervisor. You will be working alongside a team of experienced Dispatchers in constant contact with high profile customers; routing independent owner contractor drivers, scheduling pickup and delivery appointments, maintaining customer container pools, updating the Terminal Management System, and monitoring driver performance.

More about the Role:

• This is a Monday through Friday position
• You will handle all incoming calls and deal directly with drivers and clients
• You will be dispatching drivers for prompt pickup and delivers making sure deadlines are met
• You will be maintaining the data entry of moves into our transportation management system (Trinium)
• You will maintain accurate onsite reports, as well as send out weekly and daily projections for deliveries
• You will keep track of container availability and update driver activity in real time
• You will help support our customer’s unique stock, transportation and inventory needs
• You will be interacting not only with everyone on your team, but also with other managers and even ownership when issues escalate.
• You have two years’ experience of Transportation Support (Dispatch) experience
• Knowledge of Container or Port / LTL experience is a major plus
• You have great attention to detail
• You have strong verbal and written customer service communication skills.
• You are familiar with trucking terminology
• You have strong organizational, decision making, and problem solving skills

Hiring an experience Shipping and Receiving Forklift Driver. 

Must have forklift Certification 

Shift: 9am to 5:30pm

Resume and Interview required. 

Responsibilities

• Pick and pull knowledge
• Need and ability to read Delivery orders, address labels, cross-check labels
• Able to navigate forklift, pallet jack, and small space
• Offload pallets, and loose boxes from container and trailer within a limited time.

• Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
• Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
• Transport raw materials to production workstations
• Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience and forklift certificate
• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
• Excellent physical condition and coordination
• Valid certification to operate forklifts
• High school diploma
